current topic:
HOW I SPENT MY SUMMER VACATION:
Your first assignment this school year! Please
prepare a mix of at least 10 songs describing the many
activities (both interesting and banal) you engaged
in this summer. "Activities" may be interpreted as anything
and everything (extra credit is always given for creativity).
Possibilities include songs from foreign lands, emotional
ballads to represent getting laid/dumped/sunburned,
summer concerts, and Rhianna's "Umbrella," because
it was stuck in your head for weeks and someone
else needs to suffer along with you. As long as your mix
doesn't include anything by LFO, I think we'll be okay.
('ella, 'ella...)
sign up:
Signups are being taken until 11:00pm
EST, Monday, September 3, 2007.
Are you having problems with the form? Some
people do. If so, just email me your info at betterinplaid

the rules:
Here's how it works. I choose a theme (or make someone choose a theme for me) and put it up. Those who want to participate sign up, send in their name and address (using the handy sign-up form), and are assigned another person at random. After a week, sign-ups are closed and recipients are assigned. Everyone has two weeks to make a mix and, at the end of two weeks, one last chance to bail. After this, the final assignment is confirmed, addresses are distributed, and you mail!
reality intervenes clause:
Life is life, that's why people get a last chance to bail-- so I can quickly reassign people and all are happy. However, if someone bails more than two times in a row, they will not be allowed to participate again. Also, if anyone does not receive their mix they should notify me. I'll make sure you get a mix, I'll also check in and make sure it was sent to begin with. Anyone who does not bail, fails to mail a mix, and doesn't have an extremely good reason, will not be allowed to participate again.
The phrase "hang the dj" is most respectfully lifted from "Panic" by The Smiths.
